Spooky Meets Spunk
Editor’s note: This post will continue to evolve as I do.
Hello to the Halloween die-hards, the fall festival roamers, the leaf collectors, and the cozy-on-the-couch crew. However you show up this season, I'm glad you’re here.
Because not every Halloween has to be black cats, roaming vampires, and haunted houses. Sometime’s its the pop of color, honoring tradition, and just enough weird to keep things fun. This year, I’m mixing a little spunk into the spooky.
How so, you may ask? I’m giving away a little something this Halloween. While originally the intention was to give away a Halloween-themed piece, I decided to switch around my giveaway pieces. So, that the lucky individual who won from the mid-October giveaway would receive the spooky piece before Halloween. That means for this giveaway, it’ll be a colorful and fun birthday piece. One that allowed me to be weird, loud, playful, and unapologetically expressive. It is Halloween after all.
And rather than keep this piece tucked away, I figured, why not share the energy? Let’s turn playful detour into a celebration. So yes, there’s another giveaway… but this time with a little twist.
Giveaway Time
This time, I’m keeping it super simple and changing up the rules a bit:
To enter the Spooky Meets Spunk giveaway:
On Instagram: Through inspire.those.who.inspire.you or itwiy.art and like the “Spooky Meets Spunk” post
On Facebook: Over on Inspire Those Who Inspire You Page, it’s the same deal. Like the “Spooky Meets Spunk” post.
That’s it. No tagging, no sharing (unless you want to). Just a little click and you’re in.
By liking the post, you’ll be entered into a raffle. The giveaway starts today, Friday, October 31st and ends Sunday, November 3rd at 11:59pm (CST).
I’ll be announcing the winner shortly after, so keep an eye out.
**Note: This giveaway is currently open to residents of the U.S. and its territories only.
To be honest, Halloween’s never been my favorite holiday. I don’t have standout costume stories or epic trick-or-treating tales. But what I do love are all the little honorary traditions that lead up to it. The quiet rituals that signal fall is in full swing.
Like raking leaves just to jump into the pile. Snapping photos of colorful trees mid-fall. Sipping warm cider. Picking pumpkins and apples. Carving a jack-o-latern even if it turns out lopsided. Eating taffy apples and pumpkin pie without apology. Whether you made your costume or buy one off the rack, it’s all part of the season.
And while I might be caught up in the chaos of the Around the World journey right now, why not take a minute to share a little slice of American fall culture?
Wherever you may be in the world right now, I hope you’re soaking in this season.
Wishing you a spooky (or just cozy) weekend ahead.
As a signature of my blog, I’d like to end this post with a suggestion to “Pass on kindness.” There’s no time like the present to Inspire Those Who Inspire You. Acts of kindness, no matter how big or small, can have a direct, positive impact on someone else. Go out there today and change someone’s life for the better!
